KING Apparel Denim development

The AW08 collection sees the launch of our brand new denim line. We’ve been taking a closer look at our cuts and shapes this past year and fine tuning to the requests of the most important people – You.

So this season we’re offering two cuts: the Classic Fit, which is our slightly looser (but not baggy), comfortable fit – reverted back to the original 2006 block for those of you who have been rocking our denims since day one, and the Straight Fit, that should cater to all those who are looking for a more fitted look.

While we were at it, we changed the denims this winter to get you some nice 13oz heavyweight denim, in a beautiful deep indigo in its raw state. And for the first time, we are offering selvedge denim, which is kind of the KING of denims: it’s the highest quality denim, made like they did back in the early 20th Century.

KING x OnTheReal clubnight Tag Team

King Apparel and London’s favourite party rocking promoter Spin Doctor have teamed up to put the realness back into the big smoke. London's west end has been screaming out for a dose of underground Hip-Hop and original Soul for far too long and so who's better to prescribe it than The Doctor's Orders and the UK’s finest streetwear brand!

After a packed launch party with Jay-Z’s DJ Neil Armstrong, a live set from Brand Nubian’s Sadat X and storming sets from the residents, the future looks bright for ‘On the Real’…

KING Winter Ad campaign preview

Here is a little taster of the ad campaign for the AW08 collection, dropping in all good outlets and in the online store from next week.

The 'More Than A Project' campaign was shot over a two week period, encapsulating both studio and location shoots for the music and skate team. These were then loaded into an industrial projector, transported to several secret locations across East London in the dead of night and projected in all their glory to produce the results seen above. Here you can see how the original photograph has translated into the ad campaign, with Shaun Witherup providing the inspiration with a monster frontside ollie over a railing in the gnarly Kidbrooke Estate .

Check back for more updates as we reveal more of the shots and also check Sidewalk Magazine, RWD, Front, Big Smoke and Clash over the course of the next four months as the series is released

Ireland's Finest Joins the Ranks

Another day, another cutting edge musician joins the ranks of the King Affiliates – this time Ireland's very own Rob Kelly!

Nobody in Ireland makes power moves like Rob, when the US big guns such as Jay Z, Memphis Bleek, Slaine (La Coka Nostra), Styles P etc come to town, Mr Kelly is always the homegrown Irish talent to support them on their live shows, so we are glad to welcome him on board!

Be sure to check his myspace for more info - www.myspace.com/robkelly
